Ms. Ascencio - School Operations Manager
Ms. Najera - Community Involvement Specialist
Although I am new to the Valiente College Prep. family, I feel right at home, working alongside an awesome team! I have been working in education and have been a huge advocate for better education in our community for 20 years and enjoy seeing, not only our kids grow and succeed academically, but our parents learn too. I am excited to see what the future holds for all of us here at Valiente! My pass time outside of Valiente is enjoying time with my 2 boys, and love, love, love CRAFTING!!!

Ms. Hernandez is from the Huntington Park / South Gate area. She is the proud mother of 3 grown children that all attended South Gate public schools. 4 grandchildren and mum to a lovable pup. She lives in South Gate. She previously worked as an Administrative Assistant at a High School for 9 years. She also was a school bus and metro city, bus operator.


Mr. Gamino - SIS Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

Mr. Gamino will be returning for his 4th year as one of our Admin Assistants. He studied at California State University, Los Angeles where he received a Bachelors in Science: Business Administration. Currently, Mr. Gamino is a football coach at Downey High School and has volunteered as a coach in the South Gate community for the last 5 years, with the South Gate Aztecs Youth Football organization. Ms. Bianchi - 6th Grade Math/Science Teacher 
Miss Bianchi is a sixth-grade Math and Science teacher. She has been teaching for 8.5 years. This will be her first year at Valiente and is excited to make it a great year. She attended Saint Xavier University in Chicago and has Multiple Subjects, Math, ESL, and SPED credentials. One of her favorite joys of teaching is when a student feels successful. Her goal is for each student to succeed both academically and socially/ emotionally in class. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising, crocheting (still learning), and baking. 
Ms. Mendoza - ELA/ELD 6th Grade Teacher 
Hello all, my name is Ms. Mendoza and I am from the San Gabriel Valley. I have worked in education for 8 years and I love helping youth succeed. I went to Citrus College and transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where I earned my Bachelors of Arts in History as well as my credential. I have a passion for history and observing change and progression over time. I love hiking and camping. Bryce Canyon is my favorite National Park. I'm a big LA sports fan, GO DODGERS!
Mr. Maloney - 5th Grade Teacher 
Mr. Maloney is the 5th-grade Multiple-Subject teacher at Valiente for the 2021-2022 school year. He grew up in Carson, California and attended school in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. Mr. Maloney later pursued higher education at the University of California, Riverside earning his bachelor’s degree in history and received his master’s degree in history from California State University, Fullerton. He brings seven years of in classroom educational experience. His goal as a teacher is to develop a healthy classroom environment where everyone works together collectively to be the best student they can be both academically and socially. When he’s not teaching,   Mr. Maloney is an avid collector of vinyl records, loves watching documentaries, and enjoys playing board games with friends and family.
Mr. Wilt - RSP Teacher 
I am the Resource Specialist teacher for 5th and 6th grade at Valiente east campus. This is my fourth year teaching. I was born in Southern California. I went to college at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics. A fun fact about myself is that I was born on Friday the 13th. 
Ms. Cervantes - Enrichment Teacher 
Ms. Cervantes is our 6th-8th grade, Enrichment teacher. This is her first year here at Valiente College Prep and has worked in education for 5 years She Received her bachelor’s degree in Urban Learning from California State University-Los Angeles. Ms. Cervantes enjoys going on road trips and values time spent with her friends and family.
